The new TCD 2016 series engines from Deutz, composed of 12- and 16-cylinder engines with two turbochargers and intercoolers each, are designed with larger marine applications in mind. Both versions are compact and boast outstanding power-to-weight ratio, producing 1,509 to 2,012 hp at 2300 rpm with a displacement of 26.3 to 35 liters. Both engines integrate the single-pipe PEARL exhaust system (Pulse Energy Advanced Recovery Line), with a water-cooled housing to keep the surface temperature as low as possible. TCD 2016 series engines also feature electronic fuel injection and the MKS monitoring system, designed by Deutz, which the company says ensures reliable engine monitoring and protection in all load ranges.
