Although it has no new propulsion engines to report for 2003, Alaska Diesel Electric is introducing an innovative integrated exhaust system (InSep) for its genset engines, which places the wet exhaust muffler inside the sound enclosure to reduce noise, simplify installation, and increase comfort by reducing vibration. In addition to minimizing noise and vibration, InSep also reduces the amount of space required inside the engine room, which means more flexibility for naval architects and builders. And, since it only requires connecting two hoses, InSep makes installation and routing of hoses easier for builders. Phone: (206) 789-3880. www.northernlights.com.
