Growing up on Long Island, Eileen has always been surrounded by boats. Her summers were spent off the coast of Fire Island and on the lakes of the Adirondacks. But it was watching the beautifully restored wooden runabouts that cruised by her family’s summer home in Saranac Lake, New York, that first made her fall in love with life on the water.

Growing up on Long Island, Eileen has always been surrounded by boats. Her summers were spent off the coast of Fire Island and on the lakes of the Adirondacks. But it was watching the beautifully restored wooden runabouts that cruised by her family’s summer home in Saranac Lake, New York, that first made her fall in love with life on the water. Upon graduating from Fordham University with a degree in Media Studies, Eileen worked her way up through the editorial ranks at Miller Freeman and CMP Media. But she jumped ship when PMY came calling in January 2002.

Eileen organizes issues, develops stories, keeps schedules, and oversees production for Power & Motoryacht, Voyaging, Big Game Tournament Guide, and Yacht Owner’s Guide. When not editing and writing, she can be found cruising the Long Island Sound on Office Ours, the company boat, or explaining to a dumbfounded audience how someone who is allergic to seafood can work for a boating magazine. She recently got her captain’s license and is proud to be PMY’s first female captain.
