Diane received an early education into the world of boating thanks to her father, who took her on regular fishing trips. After having served as an editor and writer for magazines outside of the marine industry, she returned to the marine world in 1993 when she joined Power & Motoryacht.

Diane writes most of PMY’s megayacht feature articles and its “Megayachts” column. She’s also responsible for the magazine’s signature annual features, "The Worlds 100 Largest Yachts" and "America’s 100 Largest Yachts," which are widely quoted and referenced both in and outside the marine industry. Indeed, because no other magazine has chronicled these yachts for as long—since 1985—reporters from the Associated Press, Reuters, Forbes, Fortune, BusinessWeek, CNBC, VH1, WCBS-TV, and other media outlets regularly contact Diane for information about the megayacht industry.

Besides covering megayachts, Diane coordinates the magazine’s freelance staff. She is also a guest lecturer for New York University’s prestigious Summer Publishing Institute, as well as a member of the American Society of Magazine Editors and the Association for Women in Communications. The latter awarded her a prestigious Clarion Award in an international competition for Best Feature Writing in 2002.
