a recent vacation to Ireland, managing editor Eileen
Mansfield visited The Royal Cork Yacht Club in Crosshaven,
County Cork. Founded in 1720 and originally called
the The Water Club of the Harbour of Cork, the RCYC
is considered to be the oldest yacht club in the world.
During Mansfield's trip, the club was preparing for
the onslaught of sailors expected for Cork Week, a
biannual regatta. For more history on the club and
for a list of amusing rules set up by the founders,

The Volvo Penta D8 fills a gap in the company’s line of recreational-boat-ready diesels, and it’s already linked to a next-generation IPS pod. Take our word for it, you’ll be seeing more of this engine at the next boat shows and beyond.
