With the introduction of the 52-foot express cruiser, Regal Marine is not just ushering in a new flagship, it’s offering a level of customization that it says is without precedent in a production yacht of this size. The versatile design will give buyers a choice of four interior layouts, two cockpit configurations, and a wide selection of fabrics, countertops, cabinetry, and flooring. It’s about as close to custom-built as one can get in this size from a production builder.

Stateroom configurations include a couple of two-cabin versions, both offering a full-beam master suite amidships; one has a bow VIP with centerline berth that’s a better choice for cruising with two adult couples. The other offers a pair of crisscrossed berths in the forward stateroom; the lower berth is a double and the upper is a single, accommodating a wide range of sleeping situations.

There are also two three-stateroom versions. Both have two staterooms amidships: one to port with a single berth and another to starboard with a double. In the bow you have the same two options as in the two-stateroom model: a centerline berth and a crisscrossed double and single.

Equally important to buyers will be the choices offered in the cockpit. Many will opt for what Regal calls its Euro-style cockpit, which has a U-shape dinette facing an L-shape wet bar and BBQ area aft of the helm on the starboard side. That’s because the Euro-style layout has a pair of big sunpads aft, with room for a nine-foot tender in the garage beneath. For those preferring a larger alfresco dining area, Regal offers the extended-cockpit layout, similar to the Euro-style forward but with a lengthened settee and much bigger dining table. The hardtop is the same on both versions, so guests seated at the rear of the settee in the extended-cockpit version will have a chance to soak up some sun. Of course, both versions have big sunpads on the foredeck.

The 5260’s hull is based on Regal’s proven Ocean-Trac design with a modified V-bottom and 15.5-degree transom deadrise designed to strike a balance among efficiency, speed, and comfort in a seaway. Engine options include 435-hp Volvo Penta IPS 600s (with optional joystick) and 575-hp Volvo Penta D9s with conventional inboard drives. Regal declined to release speed projections.
