Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's Cruise For Life

Participating boats and crew members will depart from their home pier and complete their journey at MacMillan Pier in Provincetown, Mass., to meet fellow boaters and enjoy a “Celebration of Life” including a lobster bake, BBQ, dancing, awards, and entertainment.  The evening will also feature personal stories from patients and cancer survivors and presentations from doctors and researchers.

Cruise for Life honors Phyllis Handler, who died of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia in July 2010.  Phyllis, the grandmother of “Cruise for Life” founder and life-long boater Michael Handler, was treated at Dana-Farber. Michael and his wife, Marcie, credit Dana-Farber for giving their family more time and wonderful memories with Phyllis.

All captains are responsible for a participation fee of $500 and crew members must meet a fundraising minimum of $250.  For more information, to register your boat, become a crew member, or to support a boater, visit www.cruiseforlife.org, Follow Cruise for Life on Facebook:  www.facebook.com/cruiseforlife and Twitter:  www.twitter.com/cruiseforlife1.
