In the Field: Costa Rica Canopy Tour

During a lay day at the recent Los Sueños Open Billfish tournament in Herradura, Costa Rica, PMY’s Capt. Patrick Sciacca tried his hand at a rainforest canopy tour with Canopy Adventures Jaco. After trucking up a mountainside and strapping into his safety harness, the tour consisted of swinging from tree to tree high (a couple of hundred feet) over the rainforest’s deck on angled cables. (Some of the cable runs on this tour were 500 meters in length). If you’re into high-altitude, high-speed fun, and enjoy incredible views of the Pacific, Capt. Sciacca highly recommends trying this if you’re down this way. The tours average about $55 American and last about an hour and a half.
