Dangling
wires and shore power cords on the deck look messy and are dangerous.
The patent-pending ZipSleeve, which organizes shore-power cords into one
neat and tidy bundle, offers a simple (and logical) solution to this problem.
ZipSleeve comes in 11-
and 24-foot lengths to accommodate standard 12- and 25-foot power cords
(multiple sleeves can be strung together for larger applications) and
measures about 41⁄2 inches in diameter. It’s made of heavyweight
600-denier PVC, UV-treated nylon fabric to minimize fading, and the zipper
is made of a marine-grade plastic that the manufacturer claims will not
rust. Velcro straps are attached at each end and every 14 inches along
the sleeve to hold cords firmly in place. Additionally, the straps can
be used to hang ZipSleeve from a railing or cleat, to keep unsightly and
hazardous cords and wires out of the way.
ZipSleeve is available
in six colors at West Marine stores and retails for $29.95.
