This flashlight-size sounder and water temperature sensor looks like a good addition to a personal navigation kit or to a large yacht’s exploration dinghy. With its head dipped underwater, it reads to 120 feet and will add a fish icon if it detects returns. Temperatures can be taken of air or water; divers can even it use it to measure temperature or calculate camera ranges up to 80 feet down. The LCD display is backlit, and the unit is powered by a single 9-volt battery. Retail price is $120.
