I just got back from a few days at the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, Florida, shaking down Cabo Yachts' latest flagship, the 44 Hardtop Express. Luckily, we had some 20-knot-plus winds during my time onboard and got a real solid wringout from this tournament-level sportfisherman. That full composite hardtop came in quite handy in the breeze as well as offered welcome shade from the unrelenting sun. (Of course, the bridge-deck A/C helped, too.) My boat was powered with optional ,1015-hp C18 Cats, ran well in the slop, and was quite speedy where she could be. Stand by for the full test and the results of our fishing trip aboard the 44 (Suffice to say, I got to experience how well she backs down) in an upcoming issue of PMY.
