We tracked down the inside scoop on what boatbuilders are up to next.
To get a feel for the Offshore 87 I caught up with Offshore’s general manager, Jeff Johnston. This is what he had to say about this 87-foot, long-range cruiser:
“The boat is a newer version of our Voyager series. She’s got a 21-foot 6-inch beam and she’s redesigned exterior-wise. She won’t look as traditional as our Voyagers, which have Portuguese bridges and whatnot. The 87 steps it up, she’s a little bit more modern, with a fresher look, bigger windows, some sharper angles, and again, no Portuguese bridge. She’s also got a wide-open inside which is obviously a plus when you’re spending lots of time onboard. The boat will live on the West Coast, but there are plans for it to go basically all over. That’s the thing with our boats, they go everywhere and sometimes it’s hard to keep up with them.” www.offshorewest.com
