Marquis 630 Sport Yacht

Marquis 630 Sport YachtAt the 2012 Miami International Boat Show Marquis Yachts unveiled its brand new 630 Sport Yacht. The launch is a high point for the company, which is known for building semicustom, midsize vessels with a focus on form and function.

The 630 Sport Yacht is no departure from this philosophy. Of note on this boat is the interior joinery, which should be nearly flawless—a must-have for fit-and-finish sticklers.

The yacht was also designed with onboard entertainment as a foremost concern. The cockpit, saloon, helm, and galley areas are all on the main deck, which is one single level throughout—a detail which shows the forethought that went into the layout. With no extra steps to negotiate, guests can maneuver around the space without fear of losing their footing, even in a seaway.

The cockpit features bench seating as well as a table that should serve as the ideal alfresco dining location. Two wide staircases to either side connect the area to a swim platform so large it expands the boat’s LOA to 72'1". With so much space the platform will have no problem as a watersports headquarters, or just as a place to relax near the waves.

Up top the flying bridge boasts an entertainment section of its own, with abundant seating and a helm station that offers exceptional sight lines for the captain or owner. From that helm station the boat’s driver will use the joystick control to direct the twin 900-hp Volvo Penta IPS3 1200 pod drives, and enjoy what Marquis says is a sporty, smooth, and responsive ride.

As a total package the 630 Sport Yacht seems hard to beat. Anyone currently in the market for a midsize vessel with eye-catching looks and the ability to pamper her owner should most certainly give a Marquis dealership near you a ring.
