Some boats are just flat-out built for fun in the sun, and the Absolute 40STL fits that description to a T. If you had any doubts, just look at the wide-open layout. There’s room enough onboard to host the kind of party that just seems to get a little bit bigger every time you pull up to a new dock.
Sunpads are laid out almost as mirror images of each other, one in the aft part of the cockpit, and one on the bow deck. A U-shaped settee with dining table amidships should be the focal point for guests less concerned with their tans and more focused on refreshments.
Wide side decks make passage between the main deck and bow deck safe and easy, while sturdy bowrails help ensure none of your passengers take an unexpected dip in the drink.
Down below you’ll find an incredibly well-lit saloon with a dining settee that can be converted into a V-berth—helpful if all that fun in the sun gets to your head, as it has a habit of doing. A full galley aft makes preparation of hors d’oeuvres a piece of (crab) cake.
If you want a little more protection from UV rays, the 40 also comes with an optional hardtop, but frankly, for this boat, I think that would be subtraction by addition.
