This is a simple little gizmo that’s useful onboard—when fishing, cruising, or even resting dockside. It’s a portable shade that offers protection from the elements to make your outdoor experience more comfortable. It’s called the Mantis, and you can set it up just about anywhere you want.
Install the mounting brackets wherever you’d like your shade, attach the Mantis to the brackets, swing it around to your preferred angle and height, and unfold the fabric top, and you’re good to go. The fabric is removable for easy cleaning (the company recommends washing with fresh water on a monthly basis), and the overall design folds down to a compact 39"x6"x5" package.
The Mantis comes in a number of models, sizes, and colors. Pricing starts around $120 for the shade; mounting brackets are sold separately. Both are available through the company.
