The harsh saltwater environment can wreak havoc on the gas stays on your boat's doors and hatches. Imtra's latest series of stays was designed to turn the tide on corrosion with all-stainless steel construction.

The GS series stays offer factory-set lifting power from 45 to 79 pounds, but customized force settings can reach 157 pounds on the six GS models. Options include stainless steel ball-end, eye-end, or polymer eye-end fittings as well as straight, angled, and top-hat brackets. All the pistons feature a 316 stainless steel rod and tube comprised of 304 stainless steel reinforced with titanium. The tubes range from five inches to 133⁄4 inches in length.

Prices range from $67 for the smallest model, the GS-125, to $81 for the largest GS-350 gas stay and are available through Imtra dealers. Custom sizes are available.
