This product by Rhino Hide is designed to help you maintain solid footing while underway and provide proper traction on notoriously slippery surfaces like decks, steps, and docks. Dubbed Safe Tracks II, it’s composed of a cross-linked acrylic urethane and specially ground rubber aggregates that combine to form a long-lasting, nonskid surface. Rhino Hide says Safe Tracks provides excellent chemical resistance, is nonflammable, and is easy to apply using a brush or roller. It dries to a hard finish in 24 hours (it’ll be touch-dry in 30 minutes).

A Rhino Hide expert customizes a kit for you based on the surface and square footage of your project. The kit includes the appropriate coating, primers, special textured rollers, and an application guide. A deluxe kit comes with those items plus the tools required for application (i.e. blue masking tape, drill mixing attachments, primer roller, etc.).

Cost depends on the surface area, but a basic kit covering a 50- to 60-square-foot area is $100; a deluxe version runs $120.
