Watch TV Anywhere
By Elizabeth Ginns Britten — February 2004
Most of the megayachts and even some smaller boats we feature in PMY feature plasma-screen TVs that unsuspectingly rise out of a piece of furniture and slide back into hiding at the touch of a button. Now you can take your plasma TV one step further and make it rotate.
Inca Corporation, which dubs itself the “master of automation,” has designed a line of Auto Swivels which, when installed with the company’s line of TV lifts, allow a TV to turn to any position you choose. The swivel is small, measuring just 1.5"H x 8.5"W, and features a fully interlocked system to prevent the lift from moving up or down when the plasma screen is not in its “zero position.”
The lifts are made of 300-series, polished stainless steel, and the swivel rings are made of deep-anodized aluminum, which make them corrosion-resistant.
Pricing begins around $4,000 and goes up depending on the size of the TV used; a list of dealers/installers is available on Inca’s Web site, or you can order directly from the company.
