One-stop shopping has caught on like wildfire across this country, and, using a tech term, I’ll call it a retail shopping “solution.” Viking has recently applied this principle to how it builds its boats. Instead of having to take your boat from the manufacturer and then lay it up for several weeks while your tower guy and then electronics guy do their installations, Viking has started its own tower company, Palm Beach Towers, and electronics company, Atlantic Marine Electronics. Now you can completely fit out your boat through one parent company. With AME, you can even see mock-ups of your actual helm station prior to rigging it. While the convenience is nice, it also helps the owner and builder address any service issues quickly and efficiently. How? You can get multiple questions answered with one phone call. And that’s a good thing. —P.S. |
