Zodiac’s latest RIB, the CZ7, is built to military specifications and to handle severe weather and sea conditions. The company says “the CZ7 is built on the Hurricane platform used by Navy SEALs and the U. S. Coast Guard.” It’s reportedly so tough that Zodiac has developed “eXtreme eXcursions” to demonstrate the RIB’s abilities and give recreational boaters a chance to experience the same kind of intense, rugged training the military and Coast Guard goes through, which has previously been off limits to nonprofessionals.

EXtreme eXcursions are taught by former Navy SEAL, Special Forces, Marine Recon, and Coast Guard personnel. I participated in excursion “Operation Charlie Zulu 7,” during which gamers embark on a pseudo Navy SEAL operation to recover an “intel cache” protected by mock terrorists. This excursion includes a mission brief and mission training and is, as Zodiac says, “not for the faint of heart.”

Several different excursions are offered, and their locations can vary depending on customer preferences. There are half-day, full-day, and two-day events. For more information or to schedule an eXcursion, call (410) 643-4141 or visit www.zodiaccz7.com. —E.G.B.
