Talk about a lineup: 82 shipyards will attend this year’s show in addition to 25 brokerage firms, 196 equipment manufacturers, 45 naval architects and interior designers, 73 service providers, 13 tender companies, 27 publications, and 12 federations.
Those looking to join the throngs can purchase tickets, which cost r60 (about $84) per person, per day. Doors open at 10:30 a.m.
This year, the show will be sponsored by Abu Dhabi’s tourism board and the watch-maker Ulysee Nardin. A charitable watch auction (“Only Watch”) is slated for the 24th.
Visitors and exhibitors flock to Monaco from more than 40 nations.
Though more than 50 percent of this year’s exhibited yachts will be at least 130 feet LOA, there will also be 25 tenders on display.
Yachts can take a toll on the environment, which is why the MYS contributes an “eco-tax” to help finance global environmental projects in association with The Carbon Neutral Company (CNC). The CNC measured emissions and gave the MYS its carbon neutral label in 2005.
