NVTi 6000 Series Night Vision Camera

By Ben Ellison

NVTi has really upped the ante since I trialed its already powerful night- and long-vision, multicamera 4000 series. For one thing—whereas many owners these days appreciate sleek industrial design, even in cabin top gear—obvious care was taken to beautifully sculpt the 6000 series housing. Triple eye candy aside, check this list of new performance features: gyro-stabilization, so zooming in with the 312x color camera won't make you ill; object tracking, which makes the cameras follow a target you pick off your radar screen; and an Ethernet/IP interface, meaning that you can control and view the video output from anywhere on your boat, or on the planet, via Internet. The 6000 series also features a pressurized housing and 360-degree continuous pan, and systems start at $135,000 with standard color, thermal, and low-light cameras.
