Alpine Marine iDA-X100M Marine Digital Media Receiver

Renowned car audio innovator Alpine Electronics also has a new iPod-friendly marine stereo for your consideration. In fact, the company claims a special relationship with Apple as part of the reason why the iDA-X100M Marine Digital Media Receiver sports a "super fast" USB iPod connection "along with the 24-Bit Burr Brown D/A converter, allowing for an incredible Signal to Noise ratio of 105 dB." As shown, Alpine's iPod interface even displays cover art on its 2.2-inch screen and also boasts an "exclusive QuickSearch" function able to fly through your many gigabytes of audio files. And while it does not have a protective dock, the $450 unit can connect to numerous other MP3 players and even thumb drives. The X100M has regular AM/FM reception onboard and can be accessorized with receivers for either Sirius or XM Satellite Radio and even the all-digital HD Radio that's increasingly common on U.S. AM/FM frequencies. Along with this Digital Media Receiver, Alpine has developed a series of marine-strength amplifiers and speakers plus the $180 remote shown.
