No Man Left Behind

This past weekend, after a long and mostly fruitless day of shark fishing onboard Capt. Art DellaSalla’s Andiamo 20 miles off Manasquan Inlet, we eventually had to admit that the day was not ours, and threw our last baits overboard, and turned towards home.

One Month Until The Brett T. Bailey Mako Rodeo

Mako sharkWe’re just one month away from one of my favorite days of the year, The Brett T. Bailey Mako Rodeo out of Hoffman’s Marina in Brielle, New Jersey. I recently got onboard the new Weaver 80 off of Palm Beach. She’s a really cool, fully custom boat that we’ll do a full review on in a future issue of Power & Motoryacht, but for now I want to share an image with you I got from a Seakeeper rep who was also onboard running some tests. One Night in Rio

I hopped down to West Palm Beach recently for the debut of the Rio Yachts Granturismo 56 on the docks at Palm Harbor Marina. In a nutshell, the whole thing was very Palm Beach-y. A light breeze off the ocean, beautiful women in cocktail dresses, older guys wearing blazers and watches that could pay my rent for a year, and a live band jamming with tasteful restraint as the champagne flowed like water. But the star of the show was the boat, a fully customizable express cruiser from Rio Yachts, a newcomer to the market.

Malibu Blues

You can file this one under: What the what???!

According the New York Post, noted yachtsman and owner of the 414-foot megayacht Octopus, Paul Allen, recently sold his $28 million Malibu beachfront mansion to CBS president and CEO Les Moonves because he “hated the sound of the ocean.”

Yes you read that correctly.
