26. ULTIMA III -
Ron Perelman, the head of Revlon and a major investor in Marvel Comics,
has owned this yacht since her launch. The yacht is a regular in St. Barts
during the New Year’s holiday. In fact, Perelman’s wife, actress
Ellen Barkin, was photographed for Vanity Fair while aboard this past

27. CHAMAR - 186'0"
Used privately for many years by a British family, Chamar is
now available for charter for up to $252,000 per week. Mahogany paneling
attracts your eye inside, but the real view is on the sundeck, where (count
’em) 60 cushions around the Jacuzzi give new meaning to “sunpad.”

28. SYCARA III -
Talk about taking a step up: This yacht is about 60 feet longer than
the owner’s previous yacht. They didn’t do it just for their
own benefit, they wanted to ensure the crew’s quarters were larger
as well, for a staff of 14. Some of the yacht’s highlights include
white-onyx walls and teak interior soles.

29. BARBARA JEAN
We suspect the owner of this Feadship is well versed in nautical
lore, given that two statues onboard depict Poseidon and his wife, Amphitrite.
Below them, two hand-carved gilded eagles look across the room at one
another. (Perfectionists, take note: Feadship says that if you draw an
invisible line from either side of the doorway to the corresponding side
of the staircase’s base, they’ll line up within millimeters.)

30. LADY J - 185'0"
Quite shippy-looking, Lady J is available for sale for $6.75
million. She was built as a commercial craft, which explains her profile—as
well as an odd feature inside, the combination galley-laundry.

31. PANGAEA - 184'0"
Sure, all the yachts on this list have spacious decks, but how many
boast the ability to host a live band on the tender-stowage area? Pangaea
does, thanks to the aforementioned expanse and an extensive sound
system. To learn more about her, visit www.yachtpangaea.com.

spent the summer cruising American shores. Her name comes from Roman
mythology, not Greek: It’s that of the goddess of the hunt, Diana.

33. ALTITUDE - 180'4"
One of this charter yacht’s standout features is the two-level
owner’s suite on the main deck, with an observation lounge and study
on the upper level. Guests get treated to great views, too, particularly
from the enclosed gym on the sundeck. Her current owner acquired her last
fall from a Brit.

MIA ELISE - 180'0"
Before this lady was launched in the spring, it had been more than
70 years since a steel-hull yacht splashed stateside. She’s the fourth
yacht ordered by the same owner from Trinity in five years. (For more,
see “Iron Will,” this issue.) Mia Elise enjoyed a successful
summer charter season, welcoming actor Denzel Washington and his wife

both in New England and in Florida waters. Her owner also keeps two helicopters

36. STARFIRE - 178'0"
Launched as Ambrosia for a Hong Kong owner, Starfire
went through a refit last year after being purchased by her current owner.
Among the changes were the addition of at-anchor stabilization, high-speed
wireless Internet access for use at sea or dock, and an Art Deco interior.
She totes a 36-foot Hinckley named Starletand has her own Starfire
Channel, which posts info on local weather, the daily menu, photos, and
more for charter guests.

37. FORTUNATE SUN
The former Perfect Prescription features five decks, two theaters,
and plenty of plasma TVs both indoors and out. The current owners previously
had a 151-footer.

38. KATHARINE - 177'0"
For sale for $35.5 million, this Trinity spent the summer in the
South of France. French antiques grace her main saloon, while a teak bar
keeps the libations flowing on the sundeck. Unlike most yachts, she’s
crossed the Atlantic on her own bottom, and despite her large size, she
has a draft shallow enough to enjoy Bahamian cruising.

39. KISSES - 175'0"
St. Maarten, Puerto Rico, and Italy’s San Remo are just some
of the picturesque places Kisses has visited over the past few
years. She was in Hamburg, Germany, in June, and caused quite a stir among
the local media. (In fact, an editor of a local paper pestered us for
days in hopes we’d reveal the owner’s identity, to no avail.)

40. NOBLE HOUSE -
While this yacht was originally planned to have an alfresco dining
area on her flying bridge, during construction it was enclosed and converted
into a gym. Noble House is the largest motoryacht ever built in New Zealand.

41. ICE BEAR - 173'0"
If we had a dollar for every time this Feadship was said to be owned
by actors Mel Gibson or Harrison Ford, or even Microsoft cofounder Bill
Gates, we’d probably own her. Once and for all, folks, none of those
gentlemen own her, although like them she’s a frequent sight on the

42. PASSION - 173'0"
Beachgoers in St. Tropez, France, couldn’t take their eyes off
this yacht in July, but unfortunately their attention was focused on who
was onboard rather than the yacht’s profile. Hip-hop star Jay-Z and
R&B singer Beyoncé, who’ve chartered yachts before, were
seen disembarking. Hopefully they put the kayaks, water trampoline, PWCs,
and other toys to good use first.

43. BIG EAGLE - 172'0"
If you book Big Eagle for a charter during football season
and find out after the fact that your team will be in playoffs while you’re
aboard, never fear: There’s a sports bar just forward of the main
saloon with a plasma TV. She’s available for $137,500 per week.

44. GALLANT LADY
Floridians Jim and Jan Moran often use this lovely lady (as well
as her “smaller” sister, a 160-footer) for charity cruises for
their organization JM Family Enterprises. They also use her for cruises
honoring employees’ hard work; no wonder the company was named to
Fortune’s recent “100 Best Companies to Work for in America”

45. REVELATION -
While the owners of this yacht await a special license permitting
their U.S.-flagged yacht to charter in the Galapagos Islands, they’ll
have her cruising Mexico’s Sea of Cortez this winter. No doubt guests
will take advantage of the wellness center/study; located on the main
deck, it serves the first purpose when a massage table or exercise equipment
is in use and the second purpose when someone curls up with a good book
(and, of course, has a sampling from the refrigerator there).
